Just found out the video was directly responsible for getting us a 30,000 grant to do our environmental work. Just thought the folks at Bclip, especially Mike who I know did some volunteer overtime on it, would like to know that there video continues to do good work out there in the world, and has received many kudos.
CLIENT PROFILE
Momentum is a world-class interactive science museum and discovery park. Currently being built by the Health Adventure Foundation on an environmentally friendly campus in Asheville, NC all ages will gather there to explore life, health and the environment. The projected opening date is 2010. Some of the elements that Momentum will bring are: a 39,000-square-foot facility offering a healthy food service, a large changing exhibits gallery, and quality health and science exhibits that spark imagination and positive transformation, North America's very first Pedal-Powered Monorail in which you can pedal through the treetops for a bird's eye view of the campus, an open air amphitheater, walking trails nestled amid 10 beautiful acres, and Emergency 911… The Interactive Experience.
PROBLEM
Momentum teamed up with PGA&V, a St. Louis based architectural design firm, to build the science theme park. PGAV has assisted many of America’s most prominent institutional, governmental, corporate, and commercial clients with a wide variety of successful master plans, targeted at objectives both large and small. PGA&V had plenty of experience with this type of project by building numerous leading museums, historic properties, zoos, nature centers, conservation organizations, and entertainment venues.
PGAV turned to BCLIP to use the latest technology available to create an interactive video attraction that would challenge and entertain kids of all ages. This collaboration yielded the Emergency 911 experience, scheduled to open in 2010.
SOLUTION
BCLIP utilized both the Video Production and Interactive Media divisions to plan and create a series of emergency video situations that are shown in an HD theater with large projection system, surround sound and individual interactive touch screens. These touch screens allow kids to actually assist emergency responders and doctors to diagnose patients through a series of video clips and deductive reasoning. The video situations were filmed in North Carolina with the assistance of emergency equipment and helicopters provided by Mission Hospitals.
The attraction will allow kids to compete against each other and try their ability to be a Paramedic, Nurse or Doctor in a real life emergency situation. We can’t completely give you the experience that they will have, but the video linked to this page will give you a great preview of what is to come.
